A thing I'd like Lifestream (or other aggregation service) adopt from FriendFeed is the imaginary friend feature.
In fact, I managed to persuade some friends to join there because I can ensure them, it's worthwhile and useful even if none of their friends are using it yet. They can still get the updates they want from their online friends even if those friends only play in several service and don't want to join more.

In contrary, I left after trying others because they demand their user to invite others to make their experience useful.

Augh! One of the things I liked most about FriendFeed was how it wasn't Facebook, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who felt that way. For folks like me, this is a kick in the teeth!

That's sad to hear. I thought Lifestream.fm had potential and once upon a time I liked it better than FriendFeed or Twitter but not it seem dead and almost broken.......

Hey Avatar,

You've always been quite supportive. Thanks. We've all been busy with other projects and I'll be leaving, so community manager will be open. Not sure if it will be filled though. I do wish that the guys had time to put some heart and soul in to it to make some changes. But that is up to them.

Thoughts on Lifestream.fm response to Facebook acquiring Friendfeed

Not much of a actual statement that actually proposes something but better than none.

But if you want a advice (or even if you don't). Mine for Lifestream.FM would be:

1.-More Themes
2.-Make it semi-real time. think about how the original SocialThing did things.
3.-A Cross replying when suitable would be great
4.-A API would be good
5.-A sample client that actually worked would be good.
6.-Widgets
7.-More promotion
8.-Let people sign to Lifestream via Facebook and Twitter
9.-Put more emphasis on User profiles information
10.-Reuse lifestream.fm assets in other ways if you don't want to let others do it via a API:

Provide a way so you can integrate it with Amplifeeder, Blogger or make it a Badge or Profile card landing page that can also be portable (like card.ly or retagger) or make it work as social user internet passport like MyBlogLog or TwitterCounter.

11.-Get a community manager (hey, i am free :P )

Those are things you could do and get growth. otherwise i think that lifestream.fm sadly may not see 2010.....but oh well.
